An alternative piano colour, recessed and unobtrusive. Based on the original open piano recordings of Max Richter’s Steinway Concert Grand, and processed via a curated chain of filters and EQs, the result is an already soft piano taken to the extreme – full of warmth and character, yet with very little brightness; it’s a transparent sound designed to sit underneath.

Dark Mode really comes out of my search for a piano which can sit behind pictures, which has a kind of transparency and an unobtrusiveness.
