VMPK is a virtual MIDI piano keyboard for Linux, Windows and OSX. Based on Qt and Drumstick the program is a MIDI event generator using the computer’s alphanumeric keyboard and the mouse. It may be used also to display received MIDI notes.

Included is free loopbe1 driver installer, for those interested in
using VMPK as an in-the-box MIDI controller. For example,
if you want to use it to control Pro Tools instrument
tracks‘ instruments, install it. It’s for Windows only, both
architectures x86 and x64 supported.

If you are having troble making the ports listen
to each other and you are sure you have it set well,
check the tray icon (near time) or open the config .exe
of it – you probably have it on mute. It goes
into automute when it senses a feedback loop.
