Feedback Guitar captures the iconic Les Paul playing at its sonic extremes in a large studio.
The result is a distinctive ambient pad featuring two articulation options, a perspective shift, and our innovative pitch-bending technology first introduced with Hemisphere Guitars. This library is inspired by the sound of amps and guitars feeding back on classic rock recordings or in live situations where guitars and amps are placed in close proximity. What began as an experimental project ended up creating an incredibly useful pad instrument. It was recorded in the expansive hall of The Nave Studio One, using a Gibson Les Paul being fed through a high gain amp and large Marshall cab.
The ‘wild’ articulation includes some squeals, capturing the inherent instability of a guitar feeding back. In contrast, the ‘tame’ articulation offers a purer sound, with samples meticulously edited to remove these instabilities.
This blueprint incorporates programming from Hemisphere Guitars, particularly the ‘held keys only’ pitch bend mode, which bends only the held notes while leaving sustain notes unaffected, for a more flexible playing experience.
