Hello,

And A Happy New Year to everyone Smile

New member here from the North of England.

I'm a hobbyist and have only just recently got my setup back together after a few years.

I found this site whilst looking for VST plugins for my 64Bit Win7 machine, as I don't think I'll be changing OS for some time (my PC has been used for video edting, hence 64Bit and the hiatus). Specifically I was looking to see if ScapesWizard2 was still available, and I'm amazed and humbled to see someone preserving such great examples of a particular period of musical software.

It's a bit of a weird world to be in, 64Bit, with stability issues from all 32Bit plugins being Bridged, not all 64Bit plugins fully implemented or even available outside Win10.

Ayway, I appreciate being able to join the forum and look forward to reading some of the threads and joining any interesting discussion.

Kind Regards,
Paul.

Welcome, @Paul.

Yes, bridging can be a bit of a nightmare - though Win7 will probably give you fewer issues with x32 plugins than Win10 (or even Win8).

And don't forget the humble (yet surprisingly powerful) VSTHost when trying out new plugins
It's quick to load, easy on the cpu, and bridges better than just about any DAW out there.
(You can even use it in slave mode [Legree] to do the bridging for you, if all else fails.)
Above all, it's a hassle-free way to decide whether you like a plugin enough to bother trying to get it to work in your DAW at all!

Happy hunting.
