[INFO] VST2 Developers: Urgent/Drigend

(Also bitte nicht aufgeben, @Mira-Katharina!)

******

If you are distributing plugins in the VST2 format, you need a license - that includes those made with the current version of Flowstone. As I understand it, Max does not export to VST - but if it does, you cannot export VST2 versions without a license.

VST3 plugins are not affected - including those made with SE-64 and, presumably, the upcoming Flowstone-64. (So please don't give up, @Mira-Katharina!)

Meanwhile, any developers out there with unreleased plugins on their hard-drives - this might be a good time to think about sharing them ...

Personally, I will be staying with 32-bit VST2 for a while longer (and judging by the download rates, so will a lot of M-S members) -so I've applied for the license.

But unless Jeff [at Synthedit] has got it wrong - which I doubt - then I agree with the comments posted here: this is a really bad move by Steinberg (i.e. one of my all-time favorite synth makers, Yamaha).
